Spring '07 Classes and Teachers
Patti Berger -- Hodge Podge and Art   Patti has over 25 years of experience with children that includes Sunday School, VBS, plays (including artwork), daycare, arts and crafts with various homeschool groups. She is a self-taught artist and has been homeschooling for eight years.
 
Barbara Deemer -- Spanish (BA in History)   Having only studied Latin, Barb spent twelve months of high school as an exchange student in the capital of Honduras (Central America). She learned Spanish "cold turkey" while living with a an extremely patient Honduran family and attending a national school for a full academic year. She took a number of Spanish courses during college and spent another four and a half months in Honduras, studying and serving as a short-term missionary. Barb has homeschooled a number of years.
 
Deborah Crosby -- Language Arts (BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology)   Debbie has been a substitute classroom teacher, speech and language tutor, and has twelve years of Sunday School teaching and eight years of homeschool experience.
 
Dr. George Crosby -- Science (BSA in Horticulture, MA in Biology, PhD in Plant Science)   has twenty-two years of college teaching experience and three years of experience teaching high school biology and agriculture. He has eight years of homeschool experience and is actively involved with agricultural missions projects in Uganda, East Africa.
 
Brittany Tissiere -- Music  Brittany is a LEAP alumnus and homeschool graduate, currently studying music at Schenectady Community College. She plays multiple instruments, but her primary instruments are violoncello and voice. She is the section leader for 'cello and bass with the Summer Strings Program and teaches privately.
 
Elisabeth Tissiere -- Drama, Language Arts, Computer Science (AAS in Broadcast Journalism, AAS in Nursing [Maternal/Child Health])  Elisabeth is a Registered Nurse with advanced coursework in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, and Human Anatomy and Physiology. She has worked as a news reporter, copywriter, announcer for various radio stations, and as a patient educator. She launched Heart’s Content Web Design and Graphics (www.heartscontentwebdesign.com) in 2001 and designed and maintains the websites of clients and others, including her church and Schoharie Valley LEAH. She has been homeschooling since 1999.
 
Donna St. Peter -- Language Arts  Donna has many years of experience of working with youngsters in various clubs and organizations such as VBS, 4-H, Swim/Gym Quiet Time. Donna has been homeschooling for seven years.
 
Phyllis Nearing -- Language Arts, Music
 
Valori Squier -- Computer Science  Valori has many, many years of experience of mostly self-taught typing, word processing, keyboarding and computers. Valori is also always willing to volunteer where needed : ) including Girl Scout Leader for eight years, recently a 4H Leader, Swim-Gym Quiet Time, VBS, Car-pool driver, previous Pre-school helper, and launched Preschoolers of Winona Lakes. Valori has been homeschooling for six years.
